(pronounced Deb BOR ah).
She is a fine woman, very intellegent
and thoughtful. Sometimes when I say
something that I think sounds really smart,
she'll ask me why I think thus and such.
Yesterday we were talking about Heaven,
and angels and freedom to choose. I said that
I thought, after Lucifer fell, angels no longer
had free will. And that since scripture says there
will be no sadness or weeping, it's because when
we go to Heaven we will no longer have free will
either. I said that having freedom to choose is
what makes sadness and weeping.
( If we have free will and choose sin, it leads
to sadness and weeping.)
Deborah said that she thinks sadness and
weeping comes from not having a choice.
That we only weep over things that we feel
we can't change.
What do you think? Can you think of something
that causes sadness and weeping that we can control or change?

Hmmm - tough one. First off, I don't believe that those in heaven do not have free will. Perhaps angels don't have it, but that does not mean that those who have died give up their free will.
Other than that, I think that both you and Deborah are correct. Sadness and weeping can be caused by bad choices, but also just by things that happen in our day to day lives. The death of a loved one (and yes, you can relate that back to the Fall and ultimately it being the cause of a bad choice), illness or just too much going on in our lives.
I just try to remember that although pain (or sadness) is inevitable, suffering is optional. What I do about my emotional pain matters. I can wallow in it and suffer, or I can get up on my hind legs and get on with my life.
Thanx for your input. I think Deborah's point is that we weep and are sad because of things we cannot change, yes, choices we have made, but once made we feel we cannot change them.
PS: I can't wait to see what wonderful patterns you'll offer on your blog!
