Baskets or Patterns

Hi everyone.

Here are some examples of Hand Knit Felted Baskets I have designed and made.

Do you think people would more readily buy the patterns for these?

They didn't sell too well just as a product to purchase.

What do you think?

Welcome to my office building!  This is the entrance.

No, I’m not a librarian!  and I

 don’t work for

the library.

Here's a picture of my personal parking space.  (That's my personal rotating parking space.) And here's where I pay for my personal rotating parking space.

This is my secretary.  Let’s call her Mary. (I’m changing her name because I don’t know  her real name.  I hope it

isn’t Mary!)

This is my research department.  They’re a cracker jack operation and well worth the salary I pay them.  (My tax dollars at work!)

Here is the entrance to my office.  Sometimes I have to share it, but as you can see, it’s large and airy with lots of light.  ( And plenty of room to spare!)

Here’s my “desk”.  There’s a plug right behind my chair so it’s very convenient.

I come to my office 4 or 5 days a week and work very hard for 2 or 3 hours, checking my email, writing on my wall and posting photos of my artwork on Facebook,  busily adding items to my 2 Etsy shops and taking care of transactions, and, of course, tweeting!

Having spent an industrious morning at the office, I pack up my lap top, hop in my car and head home to spend a delightful afternoon in my Oom. ( That’s what I call my studio room.)

Tune in next week, for a peek at the Oom.

My other incarnation

This is me and little Hannah, up at
the old Homestead.  That was 15 years
ago.  Now she's an avid listener....
to what I call "Screaming
music."  But that's OK, she'll come around.

MUSIC!

I saw this PBS ahow last week about the effects of music on different kinds of people.  They said some folks have to have music every day.  Even if they can't hear it being played, either live or recorded they will make music in their heads, or sing.

Other people don't care anything for music.  They can go
on and on for days and never even think about music.

I am the former.  My husband if the latter!

I have so many acoustic instruments stored away in corners and cubbies all over the house.
He keeps his truck radio tuned to AM Talk Radio.  EEEuuuwwww!!!!!

This slightly scewed veiw is
of me, sitting on the banks
of the Navesink River.
Do I mind that the
photo is a little off kilter?
Why should I?
I'm a little off kilter!

My weakness is traditional folk music.
I can listen to it all day everyday.  I guess it's because I love a good story.
And the ballads make me so emotional. It's so important to feel!

How about you? What's your favorite music?

Boy Scouts; it isn't just for boys anymore!

In  1998, the Boy Scouts of America instituted a new branch of boy scouting.  It's called "Venturing"  and is targeting boys and girls  ages of 14 through 20.  Kids who are interested in high adventure, art, and sports are joining in record numbers.  Some churches use Venturing as their youth group programs.

My daughter was a charter member of the first co-ed crew in our council.  She was the first, in our council, to spend a week at boy scout camp, the first girl to hike a trek at Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico, from our council.

Did I mention she was the first girl volunteer sent to the National Jamboree, from our council as well?

Do you know a girl who likes to rock climb?  Hike for miles with a 45 lb pack on her back, shot rifles and pistols?  I do!  And I get to see her do it all the time!  Not only am I her mother, but a crew advisor as well!

Learning the Ropes

Lately I've been able to concentrate a little more steadily on promotion of my Etsy shops.  I've figured out how to plant Etsy minis on my blog and on my Facebook account, and how to change out my avatar on Twitter.  And I've sold two canvas growth charts in one week!  Way!

I did a voltunteer job this week for my daughter's Venturing Crew.  A couple of weeks ago they tie dyed t shirts to where at this weekends
Venture Daze Camperee at Boy Scout Camp.  I took all 16 of them and stenciled on our crew number; Crew 144.  I think they cam out smashing!

I've also been posting more items on my Etsy supply shop, www.finishthis.etsy.com.
I've come into a wind fall of vintage knitting and crochet books and ma
gazines.  I'm gleaning out of them all the things I really want to make and then listing them.  They're a neat little picture of the past.

I think I'm finally begin
ning , just beginning, to understand the whole marketing thing.  Well, maybe not, but if I take things tiny step by tiny sep I just might ma
ke some progress.

In Isaiah 54:2,3 God spoke to Israel as to a barron woman. He told her to get ready because the Love that he would pour out on her would be a great blessing, like many children.

Isaiah 54:2,3 (NASB)

Enlarge the place of yur tent, stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not, lengthen your cords and strengthen your pegs. For you will spread out abroad to the right and the left. And your decendants will possess the nations and will resettle the desolate cities.

Rol and Joan, you prepared. You enlarged your tent so that it was never full.

Hundreds of children came through your doors and shared communion in your living room. You taught us to Love God's Word and to believe God's Word. You told us that if we trusted theword of God, he would change our lives.

And these children - your children - have gone out to possess nations in God's name; and they have prayed the renewal of life into desolate places.

Thank you. I love you!

Necklaces that need restringing

Hello all.

Here are the pictures of the necklaces that need to be restrung.  I do desire that they be knotted.

The moss agate beads will need a clasp.  Not an expensive one but one that is sturdy since the beads are a bit heavy.  It measures 16" with out the knots.

The amber necklace has a peculiar clasp.  One bead has a screw in it and screws into the other bead which has the hole for the screw.  I can't tell how to thread the string through these two beads, but I guess someone bidding on this job will. It measures 18", knotted, but stretched out of shape a little.

The tourquois necklace has a screw clasp which I would to be reused.  It measures 16" unknotted.

I am looking for the most expertise with the best price.  This is my first excurssion into Alchemy, so please excuse any blunders.

LIFE IS JUST SO FULL OF COOL STUFF!
